My baby has not yet come to understand when I scold him. My face or voice may not be scary enough. He even looks delighted to get my full attention. Even though I yell at him with my scariest voice, he smiles at me.
However, he feels scolded when I least expect it. One night when I was watching a baseball game on TV, I shouted, "Yes!", and he started crying. I thought it was so funny that I tried to tell the story to my parents. When the story reached the part where I shouted, he started to cry again! I could not help but retell it to my husband and see if he would cry again, and he did. I felt very sorry after making him cry three times, and vowed not to do it again.
